On October 25, Dubai’s Madinat Arena was the venue for Swarovski’s tribute to global crystal creativity—the second time the event has taken place. The theme of the exhibition, Sparkling Couture Infinity, drew on the idea of the infinite possibilities for artistic innovation afforded by crystals from Swarovski.
Leading designers from a variety of segments were invited to contribute their work. The creative brief for the design contributions included six crystal color palettes, together with an instruction that the base fabric should adhere to a spectrum that revolved around beige, nude and “greige” (the subtle gray-to-beige shade so beloved of designers right across the segments, from fashion to accessories to interiors). The highlight of the event was their imaginative use of Swarovski crystals in some astonishingly intricate and opulent work.
Some of the biggest names from a variety of segments, ranging from exclusive fashion houses to exciting new trends in accessories and interiors, were showcased.
