Over the years, the trademark quality of the Swarovski crystal and the ever-present spotlight on both stage and the silver screen has come to be somewhat of a beautiful partnership that has helped make entertainment history.
Swarovski was there when the first lights were switched on in the Hollywood dream factory and it has continued to sparkle on silver screen legends from the 1940s to the present day, with the likes of Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn to Nicole Kidman all benefiting from the Swarovski shine.
Swarovski has set the stage for music and dance for many decades, dazzling productions from Broadway to burlesque, ballroom to ballet, from New York to St. Petersburg, from street dance to opera. Recent collaborations include the Opéra Garnier in pairs, the English National Ballet, Dita von Teese, and the Broadway production of “Motown — The Musical.”
This has continued with further collaborations across the world of Dance Sport, with Swarovski partnering with industry leading gymnastics, ballroom dancing and cheerleading outfit designers such as Elite Sportswear, Chrisanne Clover and Varsity.
Markus Langes-Swarovski, a member of the Swarovski Executive Board, remarked on Swarovski’s enduring impact and passion it has for Dance Sport:
“Striving for perfection ever since our company was founded 120 years ago, we put all our passion, expertise, and ambition into every product we make — just as professional dancers do with their performances. We concentrate on every step, we use our passion and fantasy to present the ultimate expression, and channel our skills to create the perfect finish. Swarovski crystal is more than just an embellishment — it captures the very soul of dance, it lights your way on and off stage, and moves with you whatever your rhythm.”
